Summertime and the livin' is easy, fish are jumping
11 October 2010 | Sarah Creek, Yorktown
Sunny, almost hot
Ryan, to his credit, decided he needed to learn non GPS, divider and parallel rules, paper charts navigation. So we turned off the GPS and he plotted courses down to Yorktown. Of course this is not learned in a day, and we had to cheat a bit because the thirty year old charts had a change or two. But we didn't sail off the end of the world and arrived to anchor off York River Yacht Haven.
Yacht Haven indeed, quite the upscale marina. The young man lent us the marina car so we could top off the larder and suggested that no one would ask if we jumped in the pool. And there is big WIFI all around the docks. And pleasant showers.
So we did just that because it was a steaming hot day. We had the pool to ourselves. And then did our best to lounge poolside and catch up with the digital world.
I know, I know.... you'd rather be reading about gales and the boat breaking! Big winds comin', stay tuned!
