Coastin'

Partly cloudy, 80s
Alex and I went to Universal Studio's Island of Adventure today. A good dose of adrenalin and sensory overload. They built a new Harry Potter village with a killer coaster and an interior ride that gives one the wonderful sensation of flying with Harry.
We did each a couple times since the lines were almost nil. If one went in high season, clearly hours would be spent snaking through the endless path to the head of the line. (Regarding the coaster, it is worth some extra time in line to ride in the first car!) It was a perfect day with temps in the 80s, a pleasant breeze and less than full on sun. We dried out quickly from the soakings we got on the "river" rides.
Universal has perfected the process of separating customers from their money with gobs of kitsch for sale at the end of each ride. Bless the parents of the wee ones who have to run that gauntlet multiple times.
