17 December 2010 | Fowl Cay
Sunny, SE 5, perfect
The Sea of Abaco was mirror smooth this morning. We jumped at the chance to go for a single tank dive by ourselves. Anchored Calypso at Fowl Cay and dinghied out to the dive moorings. Gin clear. That's one of the frequently heard descriptions of the water here. It was almost perfectly clear today. Since we were only down 20-40 feet, one tank of air lasts almost an hour. Today's highlight as a spotted eagle ray with a wingspan at least six feet. Black with white polka dots. He even did a couple loops around us before heading off. Amazing. And we were the only ones out today on this most primo diving day.
