10 January 2011 | Shroud Cay
Sunny, SE 10-0

As the wind cycles around and around, it only makes sense to try to sail with the flow, in the Sound when it is out of the west and on the banks when it is from an easterly quadrant. We headed back north on the pleasant southeasterly breeze to visit a couple island we missed on the way to Warderick Wells. Today's destination, Shroud Cay, an uninhabited island with twisting channels through the mangroves over to the ocean side. Alex went in the kayak this afternoon and gives Shroud two thumbs up. We'll spend the day exploring here tomorrow.
But we must say a few words about our wifi antenna. We really thought we'd be off the grid for a couple days when we came here. But sure enough we are sucking down signal as good as that which we purchased at Warderick Wells. So a big shout out to "Ionson" and all the other good folks of the Bahamas who have yet to encrypt their wireless routers. (The downside of course is the image of the three of us huddled over our laptops pecking away.)
