What a contrast
30 January 2011 | Philadelphia, PA
Cloudy, 34 degrees, snow on ground
We descended under the cloud cover to a grey murky Philadelphia. Foot of snow on the ground, 34 degrees. Strangely appropriate for the memorial ceremony planned that night. Despite the tears and sadness, loads of family and friends came from afar to share and that was wonderful.
Of course re-entry like that also included:
the crowds, traffic and fast pace of stateside life,
your heart's desire for food,
water gushing from taps, unlimited hot water
unlimited fridge and feezer
internet everywhere
The sun came out today, sparkling on the snow. We had a huge family brunch at the Concordville Inn before everyone trickled away. Just me, Christine and Alex with Bill. Life goes on....
