Ali and Brenda and Floyd and Trini

17 March 2011 | Little Farmers Cay
Caught a small bonita tuna on the short trip in the Sound from Rudder Cut Cay to Little Farmers.
Came through the cut and who hails us but Jan and Karl on White Pepper. They had just sailed across from Cat Island yesterday. Serendipity #1 !
We went ashore with our fresh catch. Ali’s brother Floyd was at the dock. He did a masterful job filleting it. We heard Ali’s wife Brenda cooks a mean Bahamian dinner dockside so we took the filets to her. Peas and rice, slaw, mac and cheese and our fishy. $12 a head. Plenty to share with Karl and Jan. Yum. And of course beverages from Ali.

Somewhere in between we had a wonderful drift snorkel through the harbor (several spotted eagle rays and turtles) and bought a trumpet conch from JR the woodcarver that he had turned into a horn with wonderful tone. Our new sunset horn.

Ali’s sister Trini runs the little general store next to Brenda’s Kitchen. Floyd is her “baby brother.” At Little Farmers everyone is family.
