Smashie and Slaughter
22 March 2011 | Black Point Settlement
#40 and #8. Bahamian racing sloops. The kindlier, gentler side of Bahamian sailing. Slaughter has seen better days but Smashie has fresh paint and lettering. I’m guessing she is just itching to go to Georgetown in a couple weeks for the Family Islands Regatta and go to town on the locals.
Fun Fact: This has been the windiest 24 hours of the entire winter. While we have had a couple period of 25 knots for 3-4 hours when a front goes through, it has blown a steady 18-25 for the last 24. I’ve been missing Chris Parker at 6:30 lately, so I can’t tell you which high pressure ridge or low pressure trough or compression zone is to blame, it’s just dang windy!
