Pool water
27 March 2011 | Hawksbill Cay
We searched for good snorkeling at Hawksbill but had to settle for a pleasant drift swim over various bits and pieces. The brilliant midday sun reflecting off the shallow sand really does give the impression of swimming in an endless pool. (Too bad our new underwater camera putzed or we’d have some nice shots. It is being repaired under warranty and we may get it back before we leave the Bahamas. )
The southwest breeze made for a quite bouncy sleep overnight, our least restful of the winter. The wind has been so mild we just didn’t think about the shallow chop coming in off the banks to get us. Haydi and David are troopers and said they didn’t mind.
The photo is another from Warderick Wells but does show the amazing clarity of the water.
