28 March 2011 | Allen's Cay
We left the Land and Sea Park and the "no take" zone after a night at Shroud Cay. As we tacked downwind back and forth on the 200 foot contour, David fished diligently but was blanked. After the obligatory visit to the iguanas at Allens/Leaf Cay, we went for a snorkel on the area Alex had marked. We were pleasantly surprised, and it was nice for Haydi and David to have one last swim. At the end, Christine spotted a red hind (like a grouper) lazing about. I got the pole spear and dispatched him with my first shot of the winter (and first shot in 30 years.) Beginner's luck! David filleted it and an hour later it was on the grill. You don't get fish fresher than that. Yum.
