Now this is the way it's supposed to be

A pleasantly short day to Vero Beach. When you are headed south, the low fall sun and reflection is always in your eyes, making navigation in the narrow Indian River a chore and an actual headache by the end of the day. Now the sun is at our back all day. The daymark navigational aids positively jump up, easy to see more than a mile away. No glare. Just sit back, tweak the autopilot now and then and enjoy the view.
We had a beam reach motor sail until the wind strengthened and I turned off the motor for the last hour. As if to thumb our nose at the ICW gremlins, we sailed by where I ran aground last fall on Alex’s first day underway. Three dolphins in close formation rode our bow wave into the harbor. With a little imagination we could see them winking at us. Ahhhhhh.
