Niece Jennie dethroned the seven time women’s champion in the 10k this morning, racing in the lovely St. Germain park which is the birthplace of Louis XIV. Her friend Marnie from Scripps came in second in their age group. They were the local celebrities today, receiving their trophies from the king and queen.
Then onto the TGV to Bordeaux. What a kick to be flashing across the rolling golden fields of wheat at 180 miles an hour.
Our first three nights of the bike trip will be at a beautifully restored country farm house across the Dordogne River from St. Emilion.
