As we assembled the bikes this morning, we were one wheel short, apparently left behind when we were all milling about loading the bikes yesterday in Bordeaux. Arrgh! Alain and David drove back to look for it while the rest of us proceeded ahead. They caught up with us with a new wheel from a bike shop.

Rain threatened briefly as we ended our ride, ate our picnic lunch and loaded the bikes for a long ride through the mountains to the cliff top castle at Beynac. Our B&B was basic but we drove up the valley for a five star view at a cliffside restaurant in Domme. As the sun set two hot air balloons drifted up the valley and landed in a field below. A balloon ride is definitely on the list for the next visit!
