On the home stretch
10 June 2011 | Beaulieu sur Dordogne
After a morning van trip to the pilgrimage site of Rocamadour, we returned to St. Sozy for a picnic lunch in the town square. Our afternoon ride took us to Alain’s childhood home in Beaulieu sur Dordogne. The highlight was zipping down a narrow mostly one lane road carved into the base of a cliff for several kilometers. When we got about 6k from Beaulieu, we could see a deluge of rain ahead. Nothing to do but gear up and ride as fast as we could through the rain. Warm tea and hot showers were our reward.
A few photos and words cannot capture the miles of vistas, picturesque villages and wonderous sites we had in a week crossing back and forth across the Dordogne.
