Factory reset

Sorry you're roasting, it's lovely up here
Our Raymarine E120 chartplotter flickered and died. No warning. Lucky we weren’t in the thick ‘o fog or at night. Yes, I know, back in the day we did it with paper charts, a compass and a wind up watch! But we’ve gone to the dark side and joined virtually 100% of boaters who are quite complacent watching the little boat traveling across the screen.
Fortunately we had the laptop down below with charts and GPS if we had needed it. Redundancy. And the next morning the Raymarine tech walked me through doing a Factory Reset. Lost all the way points but presto, it’s back! Voltage spike? Of course I’d spent a few hours imagining a cruise in Maine without the chartplotter and the integrated radar….not.
