Bluebird day
08 July 2012 | Sheepscot River
A front came through and swept away the hot and muggies. And brought a fresh NWesterly breeze. Deep blue sky and puffy cumulus clouds. Calypso and New Wave actually got to sail down the mighty Kennebec with the ebb tide adding a couple knots. That sail is burned into the memory bank.
At the mouth we hung a left and sailed right back up the next river to the east, the Sheepscot, to the Oven’s Mouth. How could we not check it out after all these years? Lovely trails on the adjacent public land. The anchorage was not as picturesque as we had hoped.
