Nothing but blue skies
09 July 2012 | Rockland, ME
The first summer we cruised here in 1978, we had a month of crystal clear skies. No fog, no rain. We were so entranced we almost left the boat here.
Our home port at the time was the Chesapeake: hot and muggy in the summer time, little wind, flat featureless farmland. (Which is not to say the Chesapeake does not have its charms, especially in the spring and fall.)
This summer is looking mighty fine. No fog and just a couple drips of rain for the first ten days.
The starter circuit is being crabby again so we made a beeline for Rockland today in case we needed parts. It is hard not to go down the road of worst case scenarios when one is being self reliant and the problem is intermittent. I swapped in an old solenoid I had and it seems to be working. At this point, I know not to make assumptions. I bought a back up solenoid for $18. Cheap insurance.
