Worth the wait

We spent three nights on a mooring at the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club. A most hospitable spot. The first couple days, the wind and seas would have been on the nose from the southwest. Ugh. Yesterday, we had a great thunder and lightning display during the afternoon as the wind switched around to the Northwest, the rainbows came out and it all cleared away
This morning the alarm went off at first light. After a quick coffee, trip ashore for Meg and hoisting the dinghy in the davits, we were underway by sunrise.
68 miles in ten hours! Romping along with the genny and mizzen for the first half of the day and then the main went up too. Set the autopilot and read a book, or watch the coastline slip by a few miles away. I guess if everyday of sailing were like this, the ocean would be littered with boats!
A very nice way to end this cruise.
