Passage Day 3
23 October 2015
Arrived Ball Bay, Norfolk Island 14.30 Saturday ater an uneventful passage. After the first day of medium winds and lumpy seas the winds were mainly light and as they moved to the north we needed to motor sail from time to time.
Norfolk doesn't have a protecting reef so we have to keep a close eye on wind/swell direction. Tomorrow we will have to move to Cascade Bay on the NE coast to shelter from predicted Southerly change, and have arranged to meet Customs there (Norfolk is part of Australia).
Looks like we will be in Norfolk until at least Monday.
Norfolk is around 400nm from Noumea, so approx one third of the way to NZ
Watches are working well, so all getting plenty of sleep and Raewyn is keeping us well fed with wonderful passage meals pre made by herself and Heather.
