Dan / a calm evening in W A
Its been so busy this first month in the new job that we have barely had time to breathe! We are finally living aboard again after having Camelot trucked across Australia to Perth (and that is another story!) and I thought I would take a few minutes to update the blog a bit with a few memorable moments from our passage 'across the ditch' to Aussie...

- 300 nm from shore and whales of the port bow!

- a day out from New Zealand and being 'buzzed' by an RNZAF Orion on patrol and being called over the vhf... Katrina waved goodbye and they even waggled their wings in farewell (I was asleep off watch and missed the whole thing!)

- getting knocked down by a sudden squall (night time)...

-night watches... so many stars...

-almost losing the mainsail when the plastic slides began to pop apart like zippers then riding a bucking bronco to tame the main before we lost it (also at night)...

-being becalmed for days in the middle of the Tasman Sea...

-almost losing the Genoa when the halyard failed- it was all overboard and being held on by the base of the forestay (night time yet again... hmmm..)...

-the bioluminescent display from dinoflagellates in our wake at night...

-riding the bow in 20 kn of wind and rising seas trying to bring down the genoa ('hanked' on 'cause the furler was broken).. sheltering behind a tanker to do so!!

-finally motoring in to Rivergate Marina to be welcomed by the thoroughly professional and very friendly customs and quarantine staff

Lots more to say- and I will.. in coming days.. for now, a few pictures as well
