We went for a 4.5-mile hike thru the nature reserve on the northern half of Vrango before departing. Part of the hike on a nice gravel path was thru dense forest where reportedly there are lots deer. It is also an area enjoyed by ornithologists. On the east side of the island is fairly large sandy beach. A ferry also comes in on the east coast. There are no cars on the island although we did see the island ambulance and a helicopter landing spot. Visitors to the island can hire someone to take baggage to their holiday lodging. That transport is by a gasoline powered bicycle with two wheels on the front with a 2-foot square platform in front for bags or for a person or two to sit on.

We departed at 1313 and sailed under main so we would have good visibility weaving thru rocky channels on the west and north side of Vrango. We took the passage north of Styrso and then headed north passing to the west of Knarrh and east of Aspero before our approach into the Royal Goteborg Sailing Club, the GKSS.

We came into our assigned box berth #8 on the A dock and tied up. Checked in with the harbormaster and then planned our activities for Friday.
