Day 4
06 November 2013
6 a.m., 43○ and anchor is up. Really appreciating the "florida room" (canvas surround in the cockpit) this morning. Carl makes a slow cooked oatmeal with cinnamon and raisins. Smells so good! The ditch is busy with 100ft. motor yachts today. I'm enjoying the house tour. Beautiful homes between Holden and Sunset beach. It's Monday, meeting day, so Robert is on conference calls most of the day and Carl is at the wheel. We crossed the state line into S.C. at 10:27a.m. cruising 7.6 knots. We pass by several casino boats. It is a beautiful sunny day. The current changed and is against us now, but the wind helps. Our speed is around 5.3. Must be in Myrtle beach now. There are golf courses and outlet shops along the intracoastal. The most beautiful scenery of the day is on the Wacamaw River. Beautiful old cypress trees and live oaks with spanish moss hanging down. It is 4:30 and we slip off the ditch into a nice little marina called Osprey for fuel, pump out and a slip for the night. We are told that there is great little Italian restaurant nearby and they will send a car for you. After showers we are met at the ships store and take a short ride to Scatori's. We order a carafe of Chianti and Italian nachos to start. We've been forwarned that the portions are huge, so we share angel hair carbonara and shrimp fra d'iablo. Delish!
