Farewell To New Friends
28 March 2016
We have met some great people here in Treasure Cay. Many coming and going briefly. Some, who have stayed longer and become good friends and all we hope to see again. We have enjoyed sundowners and meals together. Wolfgang's crew arrived and they left for the states between fronts. Debra and Bob, on S/V Sanfire, came back to a mooring here for a few days before heading to Green Turtle where they will have their boat hauled out and fly home to Canada. Steve and Pat on S/V Patty Sue which stays in Treasure, have flown home to Canada. The manager's party at Tipsy's was a nice surprise before they all left. There were complimentary food and drinks, including a whole roasted pig ( which was minced for coconut bread sliders), conch fritters, chicken satay, meatballs, lobster mac n cheese bites, grilled romaine and veggies, a wine bar, beer station, and rum punch. For entertainment, there was a fire dancer and "the limbo king". Tom and Darlene on S/V Jubilee limped into the marina with motor trouble. They saw the homeport on our stern and came over to see us. They live outside of Richmond and keep their boat in Deltaville. They are planning to sail across the gulf stream and get a tow into Stuart to have work done on their engine. Spring break week was really busy here. It turned windy and cool. We enjoyed another "standing room only" service at the Community Church for Easter. A Jamaican woman, who is a missionary in Haiti, spoke to the congregation. It was a moving presentation. Once again, I loved the music played on the guitar, the piano, and sung by beautiful Bahamian voices. The weather is hot again . The breeze is great outside, but we are running the a.c. inside. We will be heading down to the beach party at Coco's today. We await SeaQuell's arrival from Florida. They are waiting for a window at Lake Worth. It will be good to see "old" friends again!
