Day 3 Norman Island to Cooper Island
Happy Thanksgiving!
We left our mooring after breakfast. The winds were good. We raised the sails and the winds picked up to 24 knots. We were sailing at 8.3 knots s.o.g. Ruth took the helm and would have been happy there all day, but Dawn was itching to take over. They were both smiling and really in their element. Heather took the helm upon our approach to Cooper Island. We dropped the sails, pulled in the dinghy that had been riding wildly behind us and picked up a mooring. Karen and I were getting lots of experience with mooring a catamaran! After lunch on the boat, Heather took Annette, Dawn and Ruth to the beach to check out the vibe there. Annie, Karen and I stayed behind to relax in the bean bag chairs on the fore deck.
At 5:00 we put together a charcuterie board and mixed ourselves a drink. The vibe must have been great since the gang that went ashore did not return until 6. We heard all about the boutique and the rum bar (including a very special rum that became the joke of the trip 😉).We all decided to go in for dinner at the Cooper Island Beach Club. The color of the water, which is always changing with the depths, was Caribbean blue. Another fabulous meal was had by all. Carrot and pumpkin soup, portobello bruschetta, roasted beet salad and pork with pork belly and mustard seed sauce and a bite of peach cheesecake for dessert. We finished the day back on Meow or Never with a game of Apples to Apples and Dawn's special tropical drinks.
