Larissa

Larissa is a 25-year-old sailor from Swampscott, Massachusetts, who began her journey at sea at the age of 2. Sailing has always been a past-time for her and her family, but she is finally excited to be part of the ARC 1500 Rally and share this experience with her father.

Her sailing ventures include trips to The Cape, Coastal Maine, Rhode Island and The British Virgin Islands. She is a graduate from Syracuse University, currently working part-time, and will be applying for her Masters in Fall 2017. This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and she figured this would be the perfect time to take the year off to explore the world. On her off time she enjoys adventuring the outdoors and loves hiking, skiing, snowboarding, yoga, and running.

She currently utilizes and appreciates her skills learned from her 10+ years involvement with The Girl Scouts of America. Larissa also achieved her certificate in Seamanship, Wilderness First Aid & Marine Navigation. This will be her first offshore sailing trip and she cannot wait to celebrate with her crew at the end with a "painkiller" in Tortola.
