Salt Marsh Sparrow

Today was our "CHILL OUT" day, so we took our time getting breakfast and moving on. Our plans were to play around Masonboro, swimming and investigating....but the wind built into a 'chill' so the water was actually warmer. We took advantage of that and our bottle of saltwater shampoo and soap. Kelly belle couldn't wait so she dove overboard and headed to shore ahead of me. She repeated this behavior twice today! Whew.... I think she just needed to stretch her legs, I'm sure the swim felt good to her skin and arthritis.
This trip has been a COLORPALOOZA for sure. Today's color palette was found in the morning light marsh. The colors in the marsh just matched the colors in the Sparrow. Beautiful shades and tints of green. Being a marsh sparrow means you must blend in, my Sparrow was certainly doing just that.
We didn't go far, the front moving through was building and rain forecast, so we decided to take cover in Whiskey Creek at Masonboro Yacht Club. Took a second shower, this one fresh water. It was good to step onto a dock and get cleaned up.
My friends who live around the corner brought chinese dinner to my 'elegant' picnic charter table and we had a great evening chat by candlelight. Glad to know other folks my age can't remember sh*t either....but we had fun telling about 'whatshername' whose father was famous. Anyway, its always good to see old friends!
Being able to hook up to electric allowed me the luxury of draining my charge to watch the epic final race of the Americas Cup! YES the Americans WIN!!
Funny how sun, wind and a swim can wear you out~ that's a night's rest well deserved.
