On our sail to Bonaire, off the coast of Venezuela, we were passed by a US Coast Guard Cutter. Was really a nice feeling seeing them out there. They passed right in front of our friends, Ne'er Do Well. Tim called the captain and received a weather report from them.
The sail to Bonaire was the best sail so far out of our entire adventure. Weather was great the whole way.
Kralendijk is a very clean, pretty Dutch town. No trash anywhere...
The water is nice and clear, unlike the last harbor we were in. We anchored about 200 yards off of the town. Short dinghy ride and you are at the dock.
Town was full of bars, restaurants and shops. Could hear music from shore every evening. One night, actually very early morning, there was a huge fireworks display. So close, the boat was shaking when they went off. Otis tried to have a heart attack over this...
We went snorkeling in the crystal blue water several times and took Otis to the beach... Too hot for poor little Spike to be out in the sun.
