COG 186 - heading south
01 December 2011 | Fiji - New Zealand
Dietmar Petutschnig

After a wonderful season in Fiji we decided to raise our anchor and head on down to New Zealand again for the cyclone season and enjoy the Kiwi summer.
Our crew for long passages was Hans and Dory of "Happy Monster" a lovely dutch couple who wanted to visit New Zealand without taking their vessel off their helix mooring in Savu Savu.
The passage took 7 1/2 days with the first 3 days of elevated conditions and they typical "getting your sea legs" - Suzanne and I tried the "pahia bombs" anti motion sickness pill combo for the first time and upon arrival in Opua acquired a full set - non drowsy - you can take them after sea sickness has set in - and had no mayor side effects - so thumbs up ... available at the Pahia Pharmacy in New Zealand -
Here are the conditions as posted on Yotreps - and of course the picture is the obligatory T-shirt left behind at the Musket Cove Island Bar.
