Caris Heading to Charlston SC
17 May 2016
Joe Venema
Good Morning, It's 1AM and the moon is half full. We are about 200 miles East of the FL coast and about 450 miles South of Cape Hatteras. I have just updated our weather information on the HF radio and based on this we have made a course change to Charleston SC to avoid some bad weather aroun Hatteras on Thursday. We had planned to pass Hatteras on Thursday and get to Norfolk on Friday. Now we will arrive at Charlston SC on Wednesday midday and stay there a few days waiting for weather to settle further North. It's great to have access to this kind of information out here to make these decisions.
It is klnd of lumpy out here tonight as we are entering the gulf stream. We have had a great sail most of the day yesterday after leaving Marsh Harbor in the Bahamas early this morning. Now the wind is all over the place and we will probably be motoring through the rest of the night.
All is well here aboard Caris. We are all still aboard and most of the water is still outside the boat .
Till Tomorrow Joe
