Today we traveled from south of Salt Lake City to Capitol Reef National Park. It is the only park we missed on our trip west. We took highway 24 through the park and went up to 8354 feet at the highest summit. The views were incredible. So many amphitheaters
and beautiful rock formations.
The park was not crowded since the season is over and the temperatures almost 70 degrees and clear. We were able to enjoy the park scenic drive including the water pocket fold. Such luck.
We hiked to the Harriman Bridge - natural arch. It was 2 miles on a sandy uphill trail. Beautiful. We are on the hike in the picture with the "namesake" Capitol dome of Capitol Reef.
With our visit to Capitol Reef National Park, we have now visited all National Parks in Utah. Who would think it would happen to us. We are grateful!
