It's 48 outside but almost 60 in the cabin, with nothing but ourselves heating it. I guess we could have forgone more of our marina stays. It's supposed to get a lot colder though for the next 3 days, and it's time to provision and maybe drive a rental car around for a couple days. We'll be in Charleston SC for the weekend.
We can eat at Taco Boy on Folly Beach! Only a 3-hour run today to Georgetown, SC, then a long day Friday.
We get both anchors up and snake through Prince Creek to the south end. Simply gorgeous. We encounter an anchored sailboat along the way and say hi as we float past. They say they've been anchored there for a couple days.
We have an easy sail until almost to Georgetown, where the wind picks up and the waves have stacked up against an ebb tide a bit, but not terrible. We turn up into the protected harbor, hoping that the paper mill smoke is going away from the harbor...it is. We tie up at Harborwalk, and walk about the town then get some lunch at a waterfront café. It's one of those days where it's quite cool, but very hot in the sun.
We meet the folks on "Soundwave," a classic Gemini catamaran from the '80s. (Cat Lady is a later model from 2005). A couple from a larger catamaran dinghies up and joins us. We head back to our slip. "True Loev" arrives and I talk with Norman about their recent travails. We call our good friend Lisa who lives in Georgetown to see what she's up to. She meets up with us, with her boyfriend, Jim, for drinks on the boat, and then to their house to meet their two dogs and kitty, and then out for pizza & beer at a local favorite. It's always nice to connect with friends along the way.
Back to the boat to crash...early day tomorrow to make the long journey to Charleston.
