We had a lovely two days in Beaufort NC ordering a part and finding an additional crew. Our engine part is due at 10 and one new crew, Dane, at 11. Lauren our other crew is staying on - she's a godsend. The weather looks great and there are no tropical cyclones in the forecast ahead. All bodes well for an afternoon departure to the BVI!
This morning I woke up to a pod off dolphins in the bay near our boat. As I ran along the docks (I try to run when I'm in port) they seem to be beckoning us to follow them out to sea. I'm taking it as a good omen.
We don't yet know if the Caribbean 1500 folks will still track us for the next two weeks; we're hopeful, but if we lose the signal don't be alarmed it will likely be due to our start delay rather than anything else.
