Comfy in Anguilla

Dennis - Wet and wild
We arrived in Anguilla after a tiring, but not long passage from Virgin Gorda. We left VG at about 11:00 AM on Sunday and arrived in Anguilla about 9:00 AM on Monday. As the winds were pretty much on the nose, we had to tack southeast, then northeast, then SE again to get here. A 74 mile passage becomes a 102 mile uphill slog. Actually, on my midnight to 4:00 AM watchg, it was rather beautiful. The moon had just risen, many stars were out, and the wind was beautiful. Poor Heidi got the squalls on her watch, which then also became my watch, as well. It helps to have two in the cockpit when things get hairy in the middle of the night. Anyway, the beaches here look more like the picture-book stuff we all dream of. Monday was a nap day, followed by pain killers and dinner aboard NYCTEA, along with some new friends, Theo and Irene on Sotirius. They are on a 38' Sabre and did the passage with us. Tuesday was a recovery day, and since today the winds were wild (as was the VERY ROLLY overnight), we explored by car. Tomorrow off to Prickly Pear Island and play it by ear from there.
The attached picture is from Elvis' beach bar, where we can get some internet.
Cheers!
