Having a fabulous week with friends from Maine.
Dominica is a lush island where fruits, vegetables, herbs and wildlife are plentiful. It is a natural paradise.
On Tuesday we hiked to Spanny's Falls, located in a rainforest in the center of the islands. We hiked a path laden with beautiful trees and flowers, winding up to two waterfalls. The first falls had water cascading for perhaps 100 feet into a cool jungle pool. We hiked past that falls with our guide Paul using a climbing rope to a second, higher, secluded area to discover the second falls. We joyously dove into the sparkling clean water and swam and waded across to stand under the powerful falls.
I felt like we were all in one of those National Geographic adventure movies - but it was real. An amazing experience!
