1300 Local / 1900 GMT We've discovered that the grib data we've been using for route planning (winds and currents) are basically useless, at least in this "nether world" between the Galapagos and the SE tradewinds. Oh, well ... so much for planning. But at least we are currently sailing nicely in basically the right direction. So far we've seen one pod of whales, jumping rays and dolphins, lots of sea birds, sea lions, sea turtles, squalls, lightning and a rainbow. And we've only been out 36 hours
