Packing it up
13 July 2014 | at the dock in Puerto Escondido
Rosie's all set to go!
With the haul out for Cetus scheduled for tomorrow (Monday July 14th) we came into the little dock here at Marina Fonatour to get her all ready to go -- and us too!
Lots of work preparing a boat for dry storage. Sails and everything else on the outside need to be taken down and stored below. Not for theft reasons -- but because there's always a possibility that a hurricane could come up the Sea this time of year. And even if a hurricane doesn't appear, there can be other storms with big winds and torrential rain.
So in the midst of packing all this stuff downstairs, we still not only need to live down here, but also try to pack for a couple months of traveling. It's a lot of work, but we've done it before so we know the drill. At least this time we have our car down here to be loading up instead of having to get us, Rosie and all of our stuff to the airport.
Once Cetus is up on the hard we will just have a few more things to take care of and then we will be ready for another adventure: driving up Baja's Highway 1!
