Journey from Annapolis Maryland

Ev and I arrived in Port Kerwin on the SOuthern Shore of Newfoundland to meet our First Mates for a sail to St. John's. It was a rocking horse rolly trip in the fog and cold. The Range Lights at the Narrows to St. John's was a welcomed sight. Libations and food were the order of the evening when we got tied up at the Small Boat Basin at Prossers Rock!! We will stay here for 3 or 4 days then head for Holyrood for 2 weeks and then to St. Johne Within for the balance of the summer.

We didn’t have all the necessary work completed and delayed the trip, figuring Saturday would be good. So I helped John change the oil filter, fuel filter, and did some heavy-duty cleaning. Unfortunately the weather failed to cooperate on Saturday, temperatures dropped and on Sunday morning we woke to snow…..about an inch or so but….
So we finished the work on the boat on Friday, and as usual went for a drive. John says we’ve got Deltaville, Norfolk, Williamsburg, Urbanna, Gloucester and all of the other towns in the area and supermarkets visited. We’ve enjoyed sampling many of the local foods, e.g. crab cakes. We`ve love`d the convenience of having our car.
When we arrived at Deltaville last Saturday, we were quite pleased to see another sailboat from
Canada. ‘Nelleke’ was from Halifax and it didn’t take us long to become acquainted with Mike and Barb Turney, the owners.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal and refreshments aboard `Nelleke` on Friday. John and Mike decided to get tatoos; I`m undecided about the potency of the `refreshments`. (no, they don`t have tatoos).
