Wonderful friends visit
19 February 2016
Our good friends, Tim and LouAnn Spencer, and Kurt and Nancy Marquiss flew into Grenada for an 8 day stay. The first day we sailed from Prickly Bay to St. George's and went to Grand Anse beach for some fun in the sun.
We visited Umbrella's Beach Bar for some lunch and a drink of the day. We ordered a round or two of "WooHoos" which was listed on the menu as the drink of the day. Then we headed back to the boat to clean up for dinner at Patrick's restaurant. Patrick's is a family owned restaurant and they serve Grenadian food tapas style. We had 16 courses in the dinner and they were all good, topped off by ice cream for dessert.
The second day we were up early went into St. George's to get some fresh fish for dinner. Kurt prepared two great meals of Tuna with saffron rice.
Next, we sailed to the Moliniere sculptures and did some snorkeling at the underwater sculpture park. We took a nice long sail up to Carriacou, stopping at Ile de Ronde for lunch and a little snorkeling.
We hit the town in Carriacou and enjoyed a public bus ride to Hillsborough, where lobsters were purchased for a fantastic dinner. We had leftover lobster with scrambled eggs in the morning.
We spent a night on a mooring ball at Sandy Island, a beautiful palm tree lined beach, and enjoyed some swimming and snorkeling. We awoke early for the sail back to Grenada. It is difficult to see our friends go back to Seattle, and we thank them for taking the time and expense to come all the way to Grenada. See you guys in Vietnam!
