Cape May
17 July 2018 | Sunrise at Reedy Island, Delaware Bay
The adventures aboard Chanticleer have begun again. After a false start due to mechanical and some health issues we are once again on our way north. We left our dock on Friday the 13th, yes a double whammy, leaving on a Friday and leaving on Friday the 13th. The weather gods were very kind to us, we have had fair winds and seas traveling up the Bay. After stopping in Solomon's and then Annapolis we motor sailed with a wonderful current through the C&D canal and anchored for the first time in Reedy Island. It was a calm night and a beautiful sunrise. We were on our away again at 6 am with the current down the Delaware Bay to Cape May. We arrived in Cape May by 2pm, fueled up a Utchs and took a slip in the marina for a few days waiting for weather to continue north towards Block Island.
