Departure Date
31 December 2014 | Ft George Inlet
Up early with many last minute things to do. Mark picked up a few things and Robert & Chris helped me scrub the deck. Charabia looked great. Jim and Deb saw us off. We managed to get stuck in the channel but Mark was able to get us free and we motored to Ft George arriving around 4 pm. We anchored in deeper water. Put the dinghy in the water and Mark and Robert found the way point in shallow water. Three anchors were set. Mark and Robert removed the rug rail on the port steps and sealed it back in place while Chris and I worked on dinner, It was delicious. By 9 we were almost high and dry. Mark attempted to remove one of the props but it would not budge. They removed oysters and barnacles and decided to wait until the Bahamas to replace the props. A good drink of old Scotch was required before we all headed to bed. Mark woke by 4 and we had six feet of water under us. Thankfully only one anchor to pick up in the dark. We reset our position and headed back to bed as a small sliver of a huge moon was rising with many stars in the still dark sky.
