What a Night!

The area that we anchored in was light chop and not too much wind. We had a lovely dinner. Then the winds picked up to greater than 20 knots. We were all exhausted and retired early. Not sure if we slept much but woke up and Mark said that the boat moved. The wind was howling up over 30 knots. The waves picked up as well since the wind had shifted directions. We got up and Mark checked that the boat had not moved just bounced and jolted the anchor line. We watched the weather for a couple of hours and then decided that the winds were down to under 20 knots, and went back to bed. I am not even sure if we fell asleep but it was around midnight and we got up and yes we moved about 200 feet further out to sea. However, the anchor was holding. The seas were more than choppy and going back to sleep it started raining big time. If only we perfected our rain catcher, we could have filled our tanks as it rained a lot. Finally fell asleep and woke before dawn. The anchor held, thankfully. Mark got weather using another frequency that was much clearer and better information. They were calling for a shift in the winds to the north and we decided we had to move around the island to get more protection. So, Mark took the dinghy out around the point on the south side. He determined that it would be better to move. We are currently motoring around the point. We can see the Disney shift, just off the island. We thought they had tied up to their dock, but the waves may have been too much for them. We hope they are not cancelling this stop all together, Yikes!!
