Left Allens Cay around 7:30. The wind was behind us and Mark and Robert set the spinnaker for a wonderful sail with variable wind strength. Top speed around 7.1 with average around mid 5's. We ran down the waves and even had some bigger gusts of wind to help us out. Arrived near Nassau, at Athol Island, around 1:30. We had to go around to the North side. Our first anchor attempt did not hold. Found a better spot and that one held. Then we had our longest snorkel around this anchorage. Lots of coral on the point, which included many smaller fish for sure. Not as great a spot as we had snorkelled in the Exumas. Back at the boat and all showered, when a small power boat approached us. The three officers identified themselves as Bahamas Defense Force and had questions for us. Mark said this was their Navy/Coast Guard. We had to supply all documents and proof that we cleared customs, which was not a problem. We got to ask them questions about restaurants in Nassau and Bimini, We also had a front seat to watch them stop multiple other boats. After a wonderful dinner, we are about to start a dominoes game before retiring. We will head back to Nassau Harbour Club Marina for a couple of nights. Looking forward to Starbucks and free wifi. Send us some updates as we don't even get local news.
