Up early and hauled anchor. It was a very buggy dominoes evening and not much wind. We had our hatch closed to keep the bugs away, which made us very hot. We passed thru some very unique scenery today. There was one small channel lined with trees and a lift bridge, which was on demand.
Close by was a boat ramp, so many boats of all sizes were out fishing all over. Even many kayaks. Then just as we approached south Daytona Beach, our Garmin GPS routed us towards the inlet and lighthouse. Mark figured out that it was not the correct route, so we had to turn around and we were
able to locate the right channel for the ICW. It was very hot and we got rained on briefly, enough to wet the boat. Then the winds picked up to over 20 knots as we got near Halifax Harbor in Daytona. Arrived around 3 pm. We were placed in the dock closest to the Blue Grotto Restaurant. We decided
to walk around and were told to head to Beech Street and then four blocks down. It was hot, but there was a huge breeze. All the shops were closed because it was Sunday. There was one wine store cafe and a few restaurants that were open. We took a long walk which was great. We all took
showers and headed to Blue Grotto for dinner. There was live entertainment and the singer was old, but very good. We enjoyed it. Food was okay. It is still very windy and Mark thinks it will rain. So, far, no rain. It's over 60 miles to St Augustine, so we won't make it there tomorrow. We will select a
place to anchor before we get there, so that will give us Tuesday to spend an overnight there. Chris and I will enjoy the shops. Also, we may do a Ghost Tour. This is a great marina and the washrooms were very clean. They treated us very well.

About:
We are both computer folks that were live aboard cruisers back in the 90s. We settled in Jacksonville Florida after escaping the great white north and cruising the Bahamas, T&C, DR and points south down to Trinidad. [...]
Extra: Charabia is a French slang word for nonsense or gibberish. It derives from Arabic "sharab" which means alcohol. When you drink (too much) alcohol, you start talking Charabia. The original owners named her and Mark liked the name so it stuck.
