Layover in St Augustine
02 November 2017 | Vilano Beach
Helen/Mark
We are at anchor with several other boats just off the Vilano Beach bridge. Decided to stay an extra day. Slept in. Mark re-bed the cheek block as we had water dripping from the headliner of the port hallway. I helped. He also added silicon grease and wedges in the latch of the starboard head escape hatch. Paid bills and got caught up. Address change made for credit card bills and insurance on the motorcycle. The wind direction indicator got broken when Mark tried to stop the wires rattling overnight. That got fixed too. Added some plastic hose to stop the metal to metal anchor bridle that rattles when the water rushes by. Laundry got done for the clothes we used to date. Hung the clothes on the lifelines. Mark figured out the link to the satellite tracking map. If you do not see a map with us in St Augustine, then let us know. Added contact information to our gmail account so we could share the satellite and blog. Still a long way to go. Also rearranged the port forward cabin in order to get to the back up dinghy that was stored in the 1/2 berth. It is too heavy for that position and got moved to a more central location. Tomorrow, we plan to leave around 9, due to high tide conditions prior to that, and head south on the ocean to Ft. Pierce. It will be a minimum 30 hours to get there. We are not in a huge hurry. We plan to spend time in Key West and the Dry Tortugas. That is where the reverse osmosis water maker will be commissioned since the water is much cleaner down there. Got to run as it is SG&T (sundowner gin & tonic) time or 5 o'clock somewhere (actually here) and work is done for today. Just a note that we slept better and no legs cramps.
