Blimp Greets Charabia at Ft Lauderdale

We woke up early, hauled anchor and headed out to the ocean from our Lake Worth anchorage. It was a mixed bag of small but choppy seas and great sailing until the wind died and some motor sailing.Max speeds around 7, but short lived. It was finally warm enough on the water that we both enjoyed a hot shower on the back steps as we sailed. We got to Ft Lauderdale by 4 pm. Then motor/sailed south on the ICW to get to an anchorage. We didn't realize there were several bridges with different opening schedules, so the sails came down as we waited. We got to the anchorage just as the sun was setting and got eaten by no-see-ums. Had a nice meal and sat outside as the bugs departed. Lots of hotels and condos along our travels. We watched what looked like a brand new Goodyear Blimp flying around the Boca Raton to Ft Lauderdale ocean area. There were no cruise ships in port. We saw a lot of big fishing boats offshore today. Some were fishing but mostly, they were traveling north or south with huge wakes.
