A Cold Wind Blows!

The North Wind blew all night with a highest gust at 35 knots. Although, Alkemi, who is anchored 300 feet behind us with a ten foot taller mast registered over 50. The worst was over by the time we went to bed. By morning it was still blowing at 20+ knots. Mark uttered an expletive when he saw that the 100' two story derelict tour boat that was aground, was actually floating and swinging with the breeze directly up wind from us. The back end was tied to the mangrove bushes. We had breakfast and decided to move. Locals told us that this boat went aground three years ago and at times has broken free and damaged boats and docks in the Harbor. It was a difficult task re-anchoring near the marina with 20+ knots of wind. We are in a great spot. It was overcast and not raining, so decided to wash some clothes and hang them in the huge breeze. By 10:30, Mark wanted to dinghy to the marina as he wanted to place an order for a backup starter. The internet was flaky and he was not able to get the order settled. It's Sunday and most businesses were closed. The cruise ship had to come into Spotis Bay as George Town had big rollers breaking up into the streets (glad we are not there). Came back to the boat for lunch. Worked on some more boat projects. After our afternoon nap, we decided to go back to the marina and explore some of the canals in back of it. Lots more beautiful palaces on the water. We walked out of the marina to the main road to stretch our legs and see what was there. Good exercise. Still hard to remember that the cars drive on the left side of the road. We noticed a public bus, so that may be helpful for tomorrow. Our cabin temperature is 79 today, but it is much cooler outside. We both wore jackets on our dinghy rides. I added a sweater under my jacket on the second ride. We are in a good situation. We can see the wifi from the marina but cannot connect at this point, maybe latter.
