Another Day in Chiapas
27 January 2018 | Chiapas Marina, Mexico

Enjoyed a long quiet still night's sleep. At one point I thought the boat was bouncing and I even looked out the hatch. It ended up that we were totally calm and I was remembering my dream. Up early. Had a lovely hot breakfast around the cockpit table. We caught up on emails as we still had our Tep service. In order to create this blog tonight, we are sitting outside the marina office as the wifi seems to work best in that area. We removed all the boxes of provisions from under our salon settee and went thru each box. After the boxes were out, we sprayed the locker and then put everything back in. We do have a lot of food onboard as we have boxes stored under the port cabin. We spent time cleaning and vacuuming as well. Then started washing the outside of the boat to get the salt water off. One of the cruisers came by to see if we would join them for dinner. I say, why not? We took a quick shower as we were both sweating. Got together with 10 others. That meant walking to the hiway entrance of the marina. Then waiting until a bus came along. There was enough seating when they pulled down the extra seats. Then we walked thru one road that had a broken water main to get to the beach area, just at sun set. There were many open air restaurants, but very all had dirt floors and some had a pool in the middle, with lawn furniture. I am sure the seafood dinners were great but Mark and I had some flavor of chicken that I would not recommend. The bill was just a paper with all the amounts written on it. We did the walk thru the town back to the hiway and took three cabs back. Our driver had to ask his girlfriend to vacate so he could drive four of us back. He charged us 30 Pesos each. (100 Pesos = $5) so the rides were very inexpensive. Another hot day and we are ready to call it a day. Mark is sweating as he waits outside for me to finish this blog entry. We will spend tomorrow touring. Yeah!
