Walking Tour of Noumea! Wednesday, October 10, 2018
10 October 2018 | Port Moselle Marina, Noumea

We decided to select a different restaurant along Lemon Bay. There were many to choose from, for sure. The P&O cruise ship arrived around 4 pm, so there were many cruisers from the ship in our restaurant. Mostly drinking. The sun had set by the time we arrived at Barca Brasserie. I had a strange quesadilla and Mark's burger arrived after I almost finished eating. Very poor service. Headed back to the boat after dinner. It was already late and we were trying to get our wifi to co-operate. Headed to bed early as we were both tired. Slept well. Woke up at 6:30. Had breakfast and headed to Point Rouge by 8. Returned the car. Our car did not need to be washed. The guy's English was not good when he talked about us washing the car. Walked back and stopped for coffee at the Time's Up Café. We needed to wait until 9 to get in the Australian Consulate office. It was not easy to find. Once there we were told that we had to go to a different address. So, we walked another mile or so to their office that processed visas. We were told that it was most likely faster to go online and apply for a year-long visa. It took Mark about 3 hours to fill out his application. We took a break and headed to a restaurant close to the Gazebo called, Café Lannexe, that we saw earlier in our walking. Then returned to the boat and continued with my visa application. Our wifi kept losing application pages or it was too slow accepting the information. It made for a very frustrating task. I hand washed some clothes and hung them out to dry. In the meantime, I asked Mark what happened to our camera. The only answer we could come up with is that we left it in our rental car. So, Mark walked up the rental place and yes, it was in their office. He returned back and we finalized our boat clean up. We invited our neighbors for happy hour. We had a lovely visit with them. Mark finalized my visa application, so hopefully they will both be granted before we leave for Australia. It was a sunny, hot day. There was enough breeze to dry my laundry. The Carnival cruise ship was in town. It looked like another cruise ship as well. The P&O ship left early this morning. I was wondering why my feet were hurting, but we must have walked over 5 miles today. We noticed a lot of tents going up around the park area. The Pacific Fair is starting tomorrow morning. We will have a chance to check it out before we depart our Port Moselle Marina slip in the morning. Our plans are to anchor off another island Ilot Uere, not too far from Noumea. Thanks for your emails and messages. Enjoy the rest of your day!
