Last Day in Bundy! Thursday, November 15, 2018
15 November 2018 | Bundaberg Port Marina, Queensland, Australia
Helen/Mark
Last evening, after dinner, we watched the first episode of Vikings. It seems to be interesting, but I was fading and missing some of the story line. We were up early this morning. Had breakfast and Mark started in on boat projects. He tuned the rigging and was happy with the results. He also worked on freeing the shiv on the boat steering. Mark called Aimee, the lady that was in charge of scheduling our timber inspection. She ask Mark if we were planning to be in Brisbane. Mark said yes. She told Mark that we could get the timber inspection done there. That means we could leave Bundy tomorrow. Also, bought a few things at the marine store, with a 10% discount from the Rally. Decided to walk to the Lighthouse Hotel & Restaurant for lunch today. It was the bluest sky I have ever seen. No clouds in the sky. The sun was very hot, so our day time temperature was over 80. We walked along the path, crossing the river in one place. It was over a mile each way. Had one of their lunch specials. Then gave them $10 in their gaming room. We made a stop at the IGA. Then walked back to the marina and I walked some on the beach. We were hot and sweaty by the time we got back to the boat. Mark added two of our jerry jugs to our diesel tank. Then he got a cart, added the jerry jugs and walked over a couple of docks over to the fuel dock. It's self service and only takes credit cards. He took the receipt back to the marina office for a 10% discount. He also checked us out of the marina, as we plan to leave tomorrow at the crack of dawn. We walked up to the marina for a shower. Then finished cleaning the boat for company. Matt and Amy arrived around 5 with some canapes. I made a beef dish, served with tortilla chips. Had a lovely visit. We did a final garbage run. Left our gate passes in a box at the dock. We plan to get up and head out. It's about 60 miles to Kingfisher Bay, which is located on Fraser Island. Thanks for your emails and messages. Looking forward to some more sailing!
