Gold Coast & Great Company! Monday, November 26, 2018
26 November 2018 | Rivergate Marina, Brisbane, Australia
Helen/Mark
We were both tired and went to bed by 8:30 last night. Slept well. And slept in. After breakfast, Mark researched some boat parts. Headed to the Gold Coast, which is about an hour south of here. Returned the door latch that we bought a few days ago at the ABS Chandlery. They suggested another one. Then we stopped by Keogh's Marine Electrics where we bought a new water heater. We stopped at a mall which had a market area and walked around. Our last shop was called Barz Optical and Mark selected a pair of sunglasses with reading lenses. They are polarized lenses but the cheaters part is not, great for boating. They were our winning gift from a Rally draw. I also got a pair without the reading lenses. Then we drove out to the Gold Coast which is right on the ocean. The water and beaches were stunning. We enjoyed a walk on the beach. Then stopped along the way for lunch at the Main Beach Bakery. Then headed to the Main Beach and enjoyed a walk in the soft sand. Checked out the Life Saving Surf Club, which had a restaurant right on the ocean. We got to be guests and checked out their casino. I played for a while and got my money back. So, that's always good! We stopped further along the water at the entrance of the channel and walked out to the waters' edge. Such beautiful places. It took about an hour to drive back to the marina. Peter's son, Scott who lives in Brisbane came to visit. Had such a wonderful time. Thanks for coming by. It was a nice sunny hot day. There was a little breeze which helped offset the heat. Loved our time at the beaches and there were not many others there! Mark has a huge task for tomorrow, changing out the hot water tank. This involves removing the water maker pieces in order to remove the old one. Would love to have a breezy day for doing this work. Thanks to all for your newsy emails and messages. Enjoy your day!
