Christmas in Sydney

Got to bed late last night. It was midnight before we finished posting the blog and getting ready for bed. It was cold, but not as cold as the night before. The winds were light so not much movement in the boat. Had a good sleep and we slept until 8:30 on this Christmas morning. Mark received a text from David, inviting us to come to one of his sisters' for Christmas lunch. He gave us the address & wished us a Merry Christmas. We had a light breakfast. Then dinghied to the marina for a shower. The sun was shining and it was a much warmer start to our day. Sky was blue with very little clouds. Few boats out on the water, but they all seemed to be in a hurry, sending a wake wave our way to shake us up. Headed to Debby & Chris' home around 11:30. There were 16 of us for a lovely Christmas feast. That number included a brand new grandson. We had an amazing time visiting with everyone. I didn't realize it was so late. Thank you to Chris & Debby & all the MacFarlanes! We left after 5 pm. Headed back to Tunks Park. Then dinghied back to our boat. It was far too late to call anyone by the time we got back to the boat. Planning to drop our mooring lines by 8 tomorrow and head to the Spit Bridge for the 8:30 opening. We plan to go out the harbour entrance and run our water maker. We plan to be out on the ocean to see the many boats racing in the Boxing Day Sydney to Hobart sailing race. Thanks for the many emails and good wishes for the holidays. Thanks so much for reading our blog and following our sailing adventures. We wish everyone a peaceful, joyful, happy, loving Christmas!!
